Suresh Yadav

Suresh Yadav, a 36 year-old male has polio in his left lower limb (65%). He is staying in a rented house on the main road, Najafgarh, New Delhi. For the last 20 years he has been selling fresh fruits juice, as his shop is on the main Najafgarh road outside the Bata Showroom.
However his income per day was only Rs. 200/- to 250/- and he could not expand his business due to lack of financial resources. When he got an interest free loan of Rs. 6000/- he expanded his sales by adding vegetable juice of carrot, beet root etc. to his menu. This was a long outstanding demand of his customers, especially during the winter season. After he started selling vegetable juice he faced some money crunch for stocking vegetables & fruits etc. At that time he applied for help under ARS in his wife, Smt. Leela Devi’s name (who is also disabled). After taking a loan of Rs. 6000/- in his wife’s name, he was able to stock the required amount of fruits & vegetables. With the increased sale of fresh fruit & vegetable juice, he started earning Rs.600/- to 700/- per day extra. With FOD’s support, his monthly income has trebled over time. His financial condition has improved considerably which is a positive & encouraging trend.
