Dr. Rajinder Johar, Founder and Chief Coordinator, Family of Disabled and the organization have received the following awards collectively for their services to persons with disabilities –

Excellence Award for Inclusion 2023
Conferred upon Family of Disabled (FOD) by FICCI FLO at Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), New Delhi, on March 31, 2023. CEO- FOD received this acclaimed award on behalf of the organisation in presence of the dignitaries- Ms. Jayanti Dalmia, National President, FLO- Mr. Sunil Kant Munjal, Chairman- Hero Enterprises, Mr. Anurag Sharma, MP- Lok Sabha and Mr. Shailesh Pathak, former Bureaucrat &Secretary General, FICCI. -
International Spinal Cord Society (ISCoS) 2017
Felicitated Dr. Rajinder Johar on World Spinal Cord Injury Day for the extensive work accomplished by him for the cause of people with disabilities. Admiring his commitment and sincerity towards the society after the life-changing spinal cord injury, he was showcased as the role model for spinal cord injury patients on September 5, 2017 by Maj HPS Ahluwalia in New Delhi. -

Instituted jointly by National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People and Shell India, was conferred on FOD. -

This was awarded to FOD for contribution made for the betterment of disabled people, by Rajasthan Club. -
Delhi State Award 1994
For meritorious performance despite severe physical handicap, by Department of Social Welfare, Government of Delhi was presented by Chief Minister of Delhi, M.L. Khurana. -
Ram Krishna Jai Dayal Harmony Award 1994
Instituted by Organisation of Understanding and Fraternity, was presented in New Delhi, by Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. -
Professional Excellence Award 1993
Instituted by the All India Occupational Therapists' Association. This award is the highest honour for recognition of outstanding services in the profession of Occupational Therapy in India. -
Manav Sewa Award for Outstanding Contribution for Welfare of the Disabled People 1993
Instituted by Sapnaa, a voluntary organisation. The award was presented by Union HRD Minister Arjun Singh after FOD was nominated by Rajiv Gandhi Foundation.
FOD was one of the two organizations chosen from entire India and portrayed in the episode based on disability in the actor Aamir Khan’s TV serial on social issues Satyamev Jayate (season 1) telecast simultaneously on many TV channels across India on June 10, 2012.
FOD has been mentioned for the uniqueness of the services it offers to the disabled people for their welfare in India Book of Records 2012 (page 215).
