GYAN PATH
''Education means independence and independence means liberty" - Lily AmisAt FOD, we provide financial assistance under Gyanpath to disabled students to attain education, and our focus is on the importance of education for girl child. As we are living in patriarchal society, very less weightage is given to education of a girl and when the girl in question has disability, she is doomed.
Gyanpath primarily covers students whose parents cannot afford to educate their children with disabilities. But this facility is also extended to those parents, in which either of the partner has disability. A family having a disabled member has to expend on a variety of different heads owing to the disability and also has to face problems in feeding the family due to high unemployment.
FOD has successfully helped one hundred and nineteen (119) young disabled students under this scheme.
Once the economic burden is taken off the shoulder of the parents and they are counseled about the benefits of education, they let the child continue his/her education, enabling them to secure a dignified and brighter future.
